Monday 7-7

We packed up our camp first thing in the morning and got on the road to Wyoming. We spent a couple of hours in Cheyenne, the state Capitol and largest city in Wyoming. It's not very large and definitely has a western feel. We took a horse-drawn carriage tour in downtown and learned some of the city history. Cheyenne was the home of the cattle barons (they grazed their huge cattle herds on the prairies and then shipped them by train to Chicago slaughterhouses, becoming quite wealthy).

We found a Magic card store downtown and stopped there briefly. We also went to a Goodwill store where Karl got some cowboy boots (so excited!) and we found western shirts for both of them.
