7-17 part 2

After the Aztec Butte hike, we stopped at a scenic overlook along the park road. There was a short trail leading out onto a promontory out into huge canyons. Jody and Jay walked right out to the end of it. 

Heart attack moment... 

The boys earned yet another junior ranger badge at the visitor center. In the afternoon we went walked on Main Street in Moab and visited a nice little bookstore where they each picked out a new book to read. (Jay picked the first in a series called Flatlander, Karl picked the first of a series about dogs. Jody and I are still reading Game of Thrones.)
